Sorry you have to deal with the JC kangaroo court. But welcome! Some of us get testy in our posts every now and then, try not to take it too personal. Hope you can find some solace here as I did.
Mrs Rocky
this is my first post on this board even though i have been lurking for a looong time.... .
i have just being told that the judicial committee has decided to disfellowship me and that i have a week to appeal if i decide to do so.
the reason: "apostasy".

i wonder sometimes if to outsiders who visit this and other xjw discussion boards it seems as if xjws never "bought the farm" and that's why they look down on those who did.
there is much ridicule of the rank and file here, why?
if we placed literature, conducted a bible study, brought a bible study to the point of baptism, gave talks, commented at the watchtower study, volunteered,
I think we need to remember that people who post here are at different stages of 'recovery.' When Rocky and I first realized WT didn't have the real truth we both went through a range of emotions, anger included. We were angry at God for having allowed us to be duped, we were angry at WT for misleading us, we were angry at ourselves for being so trusting of men. So ridiculing those still in, especially those who blindly follow the leadership of the WT may be an expression of this anger and pain. I do agree that most rank and file JWs are only doing what they do because they have been taught (grilled, inculcated, brainwashed even) to follow the WT without thought to right or wrong, their salvation is at issue. Some are very good people, but not all. We all do things that are probably not in good taste when we are experiencing pain. In our case, time has eased our pain and the desire to ridicule those still loyal to WT has lessened.
Mrs Rocky
i remember in the summer 2001, when the co was given a speech about the malawi sister's and brother's.
he told how the top jw wanted to talk to the president of malawi.
when they arrived to the meeting the president was nervous and had his lawyer beside him.
Misunderstandings came at a high price. The WT directive for that period of time seems to be based on a Western democratic political system where there are three choices: yes, no, abstain (neutral). Malawi was not a Western democracy. There was no choice to be made. Political rulershp was not at issue. Citizenship (laws, taxation, etc.) were the issue. I wonder if WT would do the same thing if the US decided to make people pay 25 cents to get a social security card. While there are politics involved in the USA social security system the average John Q. Public is not involved in those political issues. 'President for life' are just substitute words for dictator. If you didn't have the card you didn't belong in the country.

i just knew when the doorbell rang that it had to be the witnesses.
but they come here so rarely.
the thought ran through my head that they knew about my little trip to the hall last night.
Woohoo Lady Lee! Sounds like you are having a fun and productive weekend! If I weren't so happy for you I would be jealous.
Mrs Rocky
it`s been interesting watching the org.
trying different ways to make money while at the same time keeping up a front of not being interested in money.

Preston - this is the same type of process that occurred here in the rural Pacific Northwest. At the time (this has been about 5 years ago or so) most of the elder body were out of work. The congregation also had a lot of widowed sisters on fixed incomes, young families, and quite a few retired couples. One of the elders was driving 300 miles to a job in the city, only coming home on weekends. Amazingly, he was the one pushing the whole remodel. The KH needed a new roof and some updating, mostly cosmetic stuff as the hall itself wasn't 20 years old yet. Needless to say, reason and sound economics did not win. Many heated discussions ensued. Rocky even brought the KM that counseled congregations to donate to the KH building fund to help build halls in foreign countries - you know, equalizing the funds. This elder's wife told us we were being selfish for not supporting this KH project and that the brothers in Zimbabwe were used to sitting on wooden boxes. It's what made our kids take a second look at 'the love' shown by JWs.Well, they got their remodel..the newspaper was called when they had their quick build weekend but LOL the newspaper reporter was not interested in their dog and pony show. I Haven't been inside the hall for almost three years - the last time I was there I noticed how cheap everything looked. The wallpaper trim was already coming loose from the wall. They went into debt for about $60,000.00. Structurally there was very little change, just the women's rest room and the front entrance way. And there is a new roof and a little bit of landscaping. They should have had the Taj Mahal with that kind of money! at least IMHO.

You Roar!!! Good for you and the silentlambs cause. Those lambies should make someone wonder what's going on.
Mrs R
a friend at the march, just called me to tell me how the march is going.
it's not raining and hasn't rained!!
nearly 3 hours into it, and it is still going.
Hi Mulan,
I feel compelled to speak on her behalf. She has endured so much over such a long period of time and now her physical health has not been good. So really, it would be wonderful for her to just have some peace.

Re: Jaracz
Slander...yep, it's a shadow we must acknowledge...and be careful of. But come on folks, let's not get so picky, picky, picky here. WT has many skeletons - skeletons that have hurt and continue to hurt. What does Jaracz have to lose? his reputation? yeah right...protected in the ivory tower. I know the person who has accused Jaracz. And I agree with Mulan that she is credible. This is another one of those accounts that makes me so angry about JWs and sexual assault. There was no way that the victim could ever have pursued prosecution. If children have trouble reporting sexual assault/molestation now do you think anyone would have heard a 10 year old girl 40 years ago? Elders, COs, and DOs back then were considered next to God himself. She has been tormented by this since childhood and continues to be raped emotionally by the congregation elders (I personally know some of the elders in the congregation this woman most recently associated with). It would give her (and many more of us) great satisfaction if this could have been prosecuted. This victim would just like to have some peace.
Mrs Rocky
It's been very hard to focus on work today. I keep checking the board, the on-line news reports for any mention of the march. Wish I could have been there. Roar lambs, roar!
Mrs R
just thought i'd update you all on the latest.
finally was seen by a psychiatrist.
she seems to think i may have a form of bi-polar disorder.
Hi Song,
A lot of clinics offer treatment on a sliding scale, especially if insurance doesn't cover all the services. So make sure ask about that when you sign up for the day treatment program. I work at a mental health clinic...we offer sliding scale based on income and family size, but they discontinued the day treatment program. I'm in a rural area and there just wasn't enough resources to keep it going. You're lucky to be where they still offer day treatment. I hope you find it helpful. And so glad you found out what was wrong.
